Kasey Kahne Wins The All-Star Race
http://www.rocabap.com/2008/05/17/kasey-kahne-wins-the-all-s...I was out at a rodeo tonight, but I recorded the All-Star race. I have to say, I was shocked. When we heard that Kasey Kahne won the race, the kids actually said, “Kasey Kahne still races?” He must have some fans somewhere because they voted him into the race in the first place. Kasey Kahne won a popularity contest, then parlayed it into a $1 million payday. After failing to qualify for the All-Star race, Kahne grabbed a spot in the field when the fans voted him into Saturday night’s event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Already running on house money, he gambled on his final pit stop to steal the $1 million prize. And in holding off Greg Biffle in the final segment, Kahne became just the third driver in All-Star race history to advance from the preliminary race into the show and then win the main event. … Earnhardt faded to eighth after leading 14 laps in the third segment and was followed by Mark Martin and Carl Edwards, who was picked by track president and master prognosticator Humpy Wheeler to win the race. Oh, yeah, and Humpy Wheeler was wrong. Again. – Powered By Stuffr! – Technorati Tags: Kasey Kahne, All Star Race, NASCAR, Sprint Copyright © 2008 RoCaBaP. Kyle Busch Captures Pole For All-Star Race
http://www.rocabap.com/2008/05/16/kyle-busch-captures-pole-f...Is Kyle Busch on fire this season or what? Not only has he won 8 races throughout NASCAR this season, but now he has captured the pole for the All-Star race. Will there be more drama on the track this year? Kyle Busch needed an inch, and big brother wouldn’t give it to him. The result? Two cars in the wall and a family feud that lasted the rest of the year. That wreck in the final segment of last year’s All-Star race nearly destroyed the relationship between Kurt and Kyle Busch. They hardly spoke to each other for almost seven months. … The Busch brothers are back at the scene of the accident this weekend, and at very different stages of their careers. As they head into Saturday night’s $1 million showdown, Kurt Busch has slipped off the radar while his little brother has rocketed to NASCAR stardom. Kyle has eight wins this season spanning NASCAR’s top three series and leads the Sprint Cup Series standings. Kurt has just one top-10 finish this season and is 22nd in the points. We like drama.
