    Opening Ceremonies

    The 2008 Paralympic games are officially underway!  We just got back to out hotel after the opening ceremonies and wanted to post a few quick pictures of the evening.  The first, we’re sure you’ve seen a thousand of these shots, but it’s worth posting again; the Bird’s Nest really is an amazing sight.  The second is the view from our seats.  And the third picture, the best of all, is of Melissa and team USA making their way around the stadium.  She is the one in the left half of the picture looking off to her right.  It was a proud moment for the Hoffman/Stockwell/Desnoyers family!   Melissa swims first thing in the morning so if you get this in the next couple hours, make sure to tune in tonight sometime between 8-10:00pm EST on paralympicsport.tv to catch it.  It took so long for the paralympics to come around, now everything seems to be happening incredibly fast.  Melissa also made the front page of foxnews.com today, it probably won’t be up there by the time you read this, but here’s the link: Foxnews Story.
