Launced in 2009, Awakened Aesthetic is one of the first (and only) ethical fashion blogs on the market. Over the course of a year, it gained momentum by featuring independent designers, organic brands, and introducing an educational series of "exposés" that informed the fashion community about the harm done by some of the most popular retailers in fashion today. Awakened Aesthetic’s goal is to make ethical shopping simple, by finding the information and products that will make it easier…and more fun…and more beautiful while shopping sustainably. It’s time we take the inspiration that beautiful things can give us and use them to do good. By buying locally, researching major brands and choosing products made sustainably, we can make a difference, not only ecologically, but politically and sociologically.
