Here are my weekly notes: Went to see my Dad at the airport yesterday as he had some time to kill before his flight home to Inuvik. They must have raised the prices for parking, because it cost me $11 for just an hour and half! Not sure how I missed this, but it turns out that the downforeveryoneorjustme.com website was created by Alex Payne - he works at Twitter. …

The Apple Store opens in West Edmonton Mall
http://blog.mastermaq.ca/2008/07/05/the-apple-store-opens-in-west-edmonton-mall/This morning the brand new Apple Store in West Edmonton Mall finally opened. Sharon and I arrived at 9:15am, and found ourselves at the back of a line roughly 200 people long. A few of the people I talked to near the front of the line had been waiting since 6am, and apparently one guy camped out overnight. …

Apple Store West Edmonton Grand Opening
http://www.linisus.com/blog/2008/07/05/apple-store-west-edmo...Michelle and I got inside the beautifully lit and clean Apple Store, where we bumped into Mack and Sharron. After browsing around and talking to some extremely energetic Apple Store employees, we left with our prize of Apple Store t-shirts (which were still being given out at 11am). See you at the Calgary Apple Store grand opening!

Techvibes Blog
http://www.techvibesblog.coma little white box which contained a black T-shirt that reads "West Edmonton" with an Apple logo beside it. I was amazed that they just continued to let people in…there were probably fifty employees to begin with, so the place was just packed! My first experience with an Apple Store was at the flagship outlet on Fifth Avenue in New York back in December. The WEM store is quite a bit smaller (and doesn’t have the wicked glass cube overtop) but it still contains all of the elements that I love about Apple Stores: free Wi-Fi, the

Enso 2.0
http://www.foulwritersworld.net/blog/?p=47proclivity,” you just hold down the Caps Lock key and type “define proclivity.” I recently tried the Enso 2.0 Launcher and true while it is still in beta, I have had a very different experience to Mack at MasterMaq. Enso 2 refused to do anything that it said on the box. The application regularly crashed at start up and it refused to “learn” any new commands, yet commands it was meant to know resulted in no actions being performed. I am willing to give this

Web 2.0 - Cyberbullying and banning sites
http://chankish.edublogs.org/2008/06/20/web-20-cyberbullying...Whether students use these sites inappropriately at school or at home, they’re still doing so in spite of being “educated” otherwise. How can we harness this? How can we “educate” more effectively? Ban questionable: http://blog.mastermaq.ca/2007/5/4/why-the-facebook-ban-will-be-lifted-within-two-years/ To censor or to create a “teachable moment”? “It is certainly appropriate to take action against cyber-bullying, however students exercising legitimate free speech should not be punished simply because the speech occurs in a semi-private online
