Our goal is to provide a forum for critical discussions on topics related to grantmakers' accountability, effectiveness and responsiveness to the needs of marginalized communities. Our bloggers write about issues related to the role of philanthropy in society, such as how they can help strengthen our democracy, how grantmakers can be better partners to their nonprofit grantees, and how (and why) philanthropic institutions can be more strategic and inclusive in their giving. For more than 30 years, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has served as the country’s independent watchdog of foundations. We promote philanthropy that serves the public good, is responsive to people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity, and is held accountable to the highest standards of integrity and openness.
