http://citizensiegel.wordpress.com I started the blog in February 2010. I assess issues from a pragmatic perspective and identify as an equal opportunity critic of left, right, and center. The blogs and other sites to which I link do not necessarily reflect my opinions or beliefs. The international links are of particular regional interest to me, well written, or represent news and perspectives which may not be reflected in mainstream discourse. Meaningful political/policy discussion should include a direct look at the rhetoric of governments and communities with a discerning lens. Discourse confined to the vacuum of one’s own assumptions leads only to circular arguments and self-fulfilling outcomes. All of that having been said, some of the blogs and publications to which I link either have a sense of humor, are usually dead-on, or otherwise strike my fancy due to their style or analytical approach. Fundamentally, I like to challenge people to think differently, if only to reassess their own assumptions. |
