Elle’s World is the world known as Gor. In Second Life Gorean ways are often the subject of ridicule and satire among mainstreamers both in and out of fashion. Much of this is due to the lack of understanding when it comes the community members and what they stand for. Many of the community members entered the world of Gor long before the inception of Second Life. Online Gor has its roots in textual environments such as Yahoo and IRC and eventually made its way into the virtual world. Gor is about honor, truth, power struggles and romance. It is not just about slaves and the masters that control them. Gor has added much to the world of Second Life and is currently over 300 sims strong. Its rich tapestry of creativity includes many dedicated artists in the fields of fashion, home design and decor and has helped to push the envelope for some mainstream fashion creators as well.
