CBS buys CNET as reported first by PaidContent.org. I need to digest the impact of this but off the top of my head this is clearly CBS 2.0 - the web2.0ifcation of CBS. I expect CBS to let the CNet folks lead the charge. It’s a public secret that there is some great talent at Cnet waiting for the ‘green light’ to compete. …

know best? Are they the best arbiters of my privacy? Thanks, Facebook, but no thanks. I should be able to do with my data as I please. Update: TechCrunch has more, including a follow-up from both Google and Facebook. Update 2: John Furrier has an interesting post where he compares Facebook's strategy to Netscape rather than Microsoft.

until it comes into compliance. We’ve reached out to Google several times about this issue, and hope to work with them to enable users to share their data exactly when and where they choose. Open is not actually open after all at Facebook. Furrier thinks Facebook has just pulled a Netscape. Robert Scoble disagrees. It’s a lesson we need to learn — an open door policy can be good for your strategy but it can also make other enterprising entities benefit from your hard work. That

ve long been a supporter of dual-mode phones with seamless roaming and I think it’s a great idea, but I think TEAM may be too narrow a solution to drive widespread adoption on its own. Fellow blogger and twitter’r John Furrier had some additional thoughts on MS Live Mesh and the UC news today.
