    OpenSolaris 2008.11 RC2 on VirtualBox

    http://blogs.sun.com/kaz/entry/opensolaris_rc2_on_virtualbox

Bag of links about Virtual Box configurations

    http://blogs.sun.com/tdh/entry/bag_of_links_about_virtual

Must be Virtual Box 1.6.* -- using JET and flar to manage quick setup of VMs. Hmm, he installs a OpenSolaris vbox on a Windows machine, puts JET on it, and then uses that machine to jumpstart others. Sweet article! Configuring host networking for VirtualBox Again a Virtual Box 1.6.* release, another 4150 with four dual-core CPUs and 8Gb RAM. Use /usr/lib/vna, which appears gone from Virtual Box 2.0.2. Famous Quote: Here's my script. No, I didn't use SMF. I'm old school. Bite me.

Solaris Cluster on a laptop using VirtualBox, iSCSI and a quorum server

Host Interface networking. This bit is Solaris specific. You basically need to do 2 things. Firstly, you need to set up a bunch of virtual nics, and assign MAC addresses to them. As this needs to be redone on every reboot, I followed Dave Tong's advice and set up an rc3.d script. (and no, I didn't bother to use SMF either, you can bite me too if you want.) #!/sbin/sh state="$1" case "${state}" in 'start') echo 'Plumbing VNICs' for MAC in 10 20 30 40

Building a Solaris Cluster Express cluster in a VirtualBox on OpenSolaris

    http://system-log.tyr.org.uk/2008/06/27/building-a-solaris-c...

create these interfaces, however I had problems getting that to work. Not only is does it need some tweaks to get it to work with OpenSolaris 2008.05, I found I couldn’t get the interfaces going even after they were created. Fortunately I came across this blog post, which pointed me in the direction of the steps below. 2 public interfaces are required for each cluster node, these can then be configured with IPMP, just as you would do in a real cluster, whilst this doesn

    VirtualBox で host networking (bridge)を使う

    http://solaris.sunfish.suginami.tokyo.jp/blog/2008/05/virtua...

    上の VirtualBox にて、Bridge 接続ができました。 vnic を利用するので、GLDv3 な interface が必須です。 WiFi interface からは、vnic を生成することができませんので注意です。 詳細は、こちらで。 http://blogs.sun.com/davetong/entry/configuring_host_networking_for_virtualbox

a few minutes to work out who was lagging, and to my surprise, the Radio 5 audio stream is about 2 and a half minutes behind the ITV1 video stream, but even that was better than listening to Clive Tyldesley (that doesn't translate well, but I expect Dave will understand). Of course, the whole thing is pretty much 'undefined' as an experience if you're using Firefox, as the player requires Silverlight, but frankly, there are times when I'll just use Internet Explorer and be done with it.

Now you know, fractalists. Ditch those mice and tablets. Pick up your needles and hooks instead. ~/~ And this information popped up in my Inbox this week. From the New York Times, 4-6-08, "In the Web World of 24/7 Stress, Writers Blog Until They Drop": To be sure, there is no official diagnosis of death by blogging, and the premature demise of two people obviously does not qualify as an epidemic. There is also no certainty that the stress of the work contributed to their deaths. But friends and

    David Tong: Healthcare Reform

    http://www.nethealthinsuranceweb.net/03/01/david-tong-health...

Health Insurance Directory Search for a variety of different health plan options by state, including individual and family, small group, short-term, student, Medicare supplemental and dental plans. David Tong: Healthcare Reform Last night I watched Michael Moore's movie, Sicko. If you haven't seen it, you should. It takes a fairly critical look at the US healthcare system. Critics would say that it views the so-called "socialized medicine
