As I exited the NECC conference by exploding a cherry coke all over the Blogger Cafe, I knew I would have to take some time to provide a brain dump of the experience. I know that many discussions will continue to force me to reflect deeply over time. Hanging around with that many smart, passionate folks will do that you. …

Two blog posts in one
http://ideasandthoughts.org/2008/07/01/two-blog-posts-in-one/Part 1 If you’ve ever heard the first statement in a staffroom, the rest of the logic would follow. Learning is what makes us human and to use this logic would suggest that schools can be inhumane institutions. This is some of the thinking of Dr. …

http://ideasandthoughts.org/2008/06/28/edubloggercon-2008/Here’s 4 minutes of random video of some of my day at Edubloggercon. Nothing fancy here but a few moments of learning. You might get a sense of some of the passion and energy in this short clips. That’s more or less why I came. I came to hear stories, share a few and spend time together. …

21st Century Learning
http://21stcenturylearning.typepad.com/blogWhen you use a lot of technology to push the envelope and hang with others who do as well-- it is pretty amazing when you find yourself in awe of the tools. Darren, Wes, Dean and I continually use tools to collaborate since we all live so far away from each other. Wednesday night at NECC wasn't going to be any different than other countless K12Online virtual meetings we have had except that three of us would be together and

Cool Cat Teacher Blog
http://coolcatteacher.blogspot.comThis type of attitude makes me angry but realize, this is my own perspective and many others won't agree with me at all. Most edubloggers aren't this way at all and take time to talk to a wide variety of people. I was so amazed talking to Dean Shareski, Jo McLeay, Julie Lindsay, Scott Meech, Lisa Parisi, Kristin Hokanson, some really amazing middle school teachers, elementary teachers, and others in brainstorming how they can flatten their classrooms across subject area.

NECC 08 Highlights: Wednesday
http://edtechlife.com/?p=2026The only formal session I made it to on the final day was sort of panel session, The Magic of Digital: Collaborative Interaction in Teacher Professional Development, led by Wes Fryer, with Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach, and Dean Shareski, with Darren Kuropatwa appearing remotely via Skype. These folks also pulled in many of the session participants to speak as well. In short, the topic was the k12online conference. Two years ago I produced three videos for this online event. My efforts
