An illustration of social engineering
http://idunno.org/archive/2008/11/13/an-illustration-of-social-engineering.aspxAn illustration of social engineering Last night my twitter feed started filling up with messages about Twitterank; in fact there are so many messages that it's currently in the top 10 trends for the day on tweetscans.com. Looking at the people in my feed who used it; a few MVPs, a bunch of Microsoft staffers and a couple of other technical folks it looked interested. …

Passwords alone, are not enough. Even if they were, are they hard to break?
http://www.craigmurphy.com/blog/?p=927However, so did Twitterank. The site made it clear what it wanted you to believe it was doing with your username and password. Even if you didn’t read the Twitterank terms of service or FAQ, it was embedded within the source code, as Barry Dorrans carefully points out. The speed at which the Twitter population flocked to Twitterank suggests that were there any ulterior motives, the site would be well placed to exploit a significant portion of the Twitter accounts that it had opportunity to

Configure ASP.NET Websites to output XHTML to W3C Validator
http://amargalla.com/blog/archive/2008/11/12/configure-asp-n...how to configure ASP.NET to output XHTML to the browsers. However, when the W3C Validator checks the page, ASP.NET does not know the W3C user agent and hence sends out non compliant code. The trick is in the w3cvalidator.browser file available on idunno.org. Just drop the file in your App_Browsers folder and ASP.NET will send out XHTML compliant code to the Validator.

Announce - DDD Scotland 2 - 2nd May 2009
http://www.craigmurphy.com/blog/?p=909As usual, DDD Scotland will follow the same pattern as the highly successful DDD events held in Reading. Barry Dorrans wins a prize for the most humourous announcement so far - check out his post over here! Barry’s use of McDDD, whilst possibly stereotypical, has made a few folks laugh over at Twitter! I’m not so sure about JockDDD, but I’m laughing anyway! Technorati Tags: DDD, DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper

LiveID i OpenID

The Social Programmer — Craig Murphy: author, blogger, community evangelist, developer, speaker
http://www.craigmurphy.com/blogWe opened session submissions earlier than usual and kept it open for longer - this has had the advantage of attacting new speakers on to the submission list. DDD7 is also the first DDD since DDD2 to have girlgeeks (aka ladies, with the exception of Barry, “he ain’t no lady”) on the agenda - Sarah Blow, Kalen Delaney, Annie Matthewman being the first to hold that honour. Now that I’ve got some statistics rolling, I’ll publish some more over the coming weeks. For example, there is one speaker
