and the Social Media Surgeries. I used the volunteer effort that mysociety can apply to ventures like fixmystreet (and not a soul in the room had heard of the site). I also talked to them about the open innovation exchange experiment and how it’s model of open collaboration to pitch for contracts is using trust to disrupt existing ways of doing business and improve the outcome for the public. Responses were mixed. Some went for the very human (my favourites) such as

Simon’s Blog (the official one)
http://simonberry.ruralnet.org.ukto not embarassing anyone or breaking the Official Secrets Act (more of a challenge) which I signed today. My colleague, Paul Henderson, has been building the vice for the workbench - no pun intended - a nice little Drupal installation, a la ‘Open Innovation Exchange‘, where I will be keeping a diary, begging for insights, case studies, opinions etc. I’ll also be aggregating anything tagged web24gov (#web24gov for Twitter users) so please start tagging now! I want everything, del.icio.us bookmarks, blog posts,

About Here Comes Nobody
http://herecomesnobody.com/node/1This is a group blog which anyone can register with and add content - alternatively you can leave comments on other people's posts without needing to register. It will work in a similar way to other co-design projects like the Open Innovation Exchange, Ruralnet|Online and the Membership Project. We gather in people's views, experiences and knowledge through the group blog, which David and I will then use to produce the final products of the project. Everyone will get their contributions

Private and public collaboration
http://davepress.net/2008/03/25/private-and-public-collabora...David has started a similar thread within the project space on the RSA Network too. I’m fully supportive of his stance, having been happily involved in open online collaborative projects such as the Open Innovation Exchange, RuralNetOnline, the Membership Project and the etoolkit. http://www.designingforcivilsociety.orgMy friend Simon Berry and I were along because we led a competing team to bid for the Innovation Exchange job last year. The evening was a great opportunity to wish John and his team every success in a challenging task, pitch in some ideas and identify some challenges. We talked a lot around the need to mix together the processes of encouraging innovation with

Simon's Blog (the personal one)
http://beamends.typepad.com/simons_blogon 10 April at our collaborate|2008 event. We will be seeking to set up a focus group to meet face-to-face twice during this period and we will also be running an open consultation/ideas exchange online. We will model this on the Open innovation Exchange which brought me into contact with some fantastic innovators last year. We will work at pace and with a clear set of goals - just like before. We will seed this with a few ideas and concepts including these that have already been posted elsewhere:
