Make ideas real at the library
http://librariansmatter.com/blog/2008/05/08/make-ideas-real-at-the-library/I’m in Sydney right now - see, here’s me and a House and a Bridge: I was on the ferry back from the zoo when I took this photo of the Opera House at sunset: I hopped off the ferry and walked straight into the library at Old Customs House. My, oh my, oh my - what a fantastic idea I saw there. …

My Signature
http://librarygoon.wordpress.com/2008/05/17/my-signature/though I do work the reference desk several days a week. Even though Steven was addressing academic librarians, I think public librarians should attempt to come up with their own signature statements as well. I originally came across this idea on the Librarians Matter blog, where I posted my signature. My hope is that my signature is a reflection of my personality, job and professional goals. It serves as guide to the way I approach each and every day. I am sure this will change over time, but currently mine is:

Библиотечные штучки
http://library-items.blogspot.comЧитала библиотечную заметку с таким названием по-английски о библиотечном маркетинге и создании профилей пользователей. Автор блога (кстати - тоже тезка) отметила, что ей пришла в голову идея о совмещении профиля библиотечного пользователя с университетским... и вообще -

Pondering a new IT policy...
http://ferallibrarytales.blogspot.com/2008/05/pondering-new-...we turn the photocopier off at the wall at least once per week to reset the settings, to stop little glitches and expensive callouts...that is..."hello IT, have you tried turning it off and on again?". The message is the message
http://managethis.org/?p=56take on surfing the web I do agree that we need to get away from being “preachy” and telling our patrons that our services “are better for them”. Interestingly some other librarians are honing their messages into “signature statements”. Kathryn Greenhill, who frequently writes posts that make me think, points to Stephen Bell and his post “What’s your signature statement?” It seems that academic librarians are being influenced by the many educators who have a statement of teaching philosophy to
