Looting matters

Looting Matters started in 2007. It aims to comment on the ethics of collecting archaeological material and cultural property. Looting Matters presents 'research in progress' on the topic of the material and intellectual consequences of collecting antiquities. The main geographical areas covered are Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt as well as other countries round the Mediterranean. Looting Matters also discusses the acquisition of archaeological material by museums and private collectors.
