Mama's Weeds is where I share what I've come to learn and continue to learn about successful, lasting weight loss, healthy eating, running, yoga, gardening, local, sustainable food choices - all while raising and homeschooling two children. After losing nearly 40 pounds in 2008, I came to make many changes in our lifestyle and eating habits. I maintain my weight loss thanks to the changes we've made. The blog is where I chronicle our adventures in healthy living as a family of our four. I write about the recipes I create and how I modify other recipes to be healthier. I write about the books I read that have helped me in my journey to a healthier life. I share our challenges with trying to get kids to eat more (any!) fruits and vegetables. I write what I know and like about fitness and how to properly fuel before and what to eat after a workout. My hope is that what I've learned will help others on their journey to a healthier life - all without taking any of it too seriously.
