Mike Langlois, LICSW-- Psychotherapy Meets Web 2.0
I am a psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapist, and this blog talks about practicing psychotherapy in a Web 2.0 world. My blog gives practical tips for therapists to grow their practice and use technology to enhance how we practice psychotherapy and market our business. Other topics include psychoanalytic theory and online gaming; social media and professional identity; social justice in a managed care environment; generating referrals; and balancing work with self-care. I have over 15 years of experience as a therapist, and I’m an adjunct faculty member of Boston College School for Social Work and a teaching associate in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. I also provide private supervision. I’m currently researching and teaching about the interface between online technologies and clinical theory and practice. In particular I am focusing on the use of online gaming from a psychodynamic perspective; as well as the impact of social networks on interpersonal relationships.
