of particular web pages in the Google search results, by linking to those pages. It would be nice if people searching for information on John McCain came up with the articles that describe how John McCain voted to filibuster a minimum wage hike, how John McCain said it would be “fine” to keep the troops in Iraq for a hundred years, how John McCain said Bush was right to veto health care funding for poor children…you get the idea. Nine articles are part of the project. I can

Will Afghanistan Violence hurt McCain Campaign?

    http://www.juancole.com/2008/07/will-afghanistan-violence-hu...

Meanwhile, guerrillas used a roadside bomb to kill 5 Afghan troops in Logan, central Afghanistan. There was also a major firefight between the Afghan army and a group characterized as "Taliban" in Badghis in the northwest. David Corn at Mother Jones asks if Afghanistan will explode as a campaign issue in the US, and whether that development will harm the prospects of John McCain, who has instead put his eggs in the Iraq basket. Barack Obama has argued that the US should have focused on al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan instead.

“John McCain” “Google hacking” “level of expertise”

    http://naturalcode.wordpress.com/2008/07/04/john-mccain-goog...

one of his previous lies. “John McCain continues to deny he has ever downplayed his economic know-how, is he familiar with the Google?” she wondered. Let’s see what the Google has to say about that. Oh, look. An older video of all the Republican candidates being asked whether they used a PC or a Mac. John McCain’s response? “Neither. I am… I am a… illiterate that has to rely on my wife for all of the assistance that I can get.

    Get Smart

    http://www.atlargely.com/2008/07/get-smart.html

They and their fellow-travellers are already following up news that Iran might well be ready for a "freeze on freeze" deal with rhetoric suggesting that Iran blinked in the face of hightened threats of an attack. In actuality, however, some experts indicate that the opposite is true - "in anticipation (or with advance information) of a greater Iranian willingness to demonstrate flexibility on the enrichment freeze, the threats were escalated in order to allow the claim that chest-thumping was working.

that there is no evidence--zilch, zero, nada-- that Iran has facilities for enriching to weapons grade or that it is trying to do so. Instead we get rumors about bomb, bomb, bombing Iran. But in an election year, no one should get too comfortable. This tidbit from Laura Rozen is also interesting. Meanwhile, any of these guys talking about Pakistan or Central Asia? Not a word.

Obama Team Conference Call on Afghanistan

    http://www.taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=28006

s another strike against him and proving further that valiant military service doesn’t mean you have the mental agility to be commander in chief in the modern era. McCain’s simple thinking worries me more and more. David Corn has more. Sarah Sewell ended the call by addressing the 2,300 troops being kept in Afghanistan, which has a bottom line that the way we are current allocating troops is ineffective, counterproductive and hindering our ability to focus on the biggest threats,

The drilling myth that just won't die

of Florida. We're not doing it. The Chinese are in cooperation with the Cuban government ... Even the communists have figured out that a good answer to high prices is more supply. Yet Congress has said ... no to drilling off Florida." It has been a common Republican talking point, but it's patently false -- the Chinese are not drilling off Cuba's coasts. The day after Cheney made the bogus claim, the V.P.'s office acknowledged that he was mistaken. And yet, for some reason, high-profile Republicans can't stop repeating the
