Music Education For All
MusicEdForAll.com was founded in 2009 by Daniel Leeman as a collaborative blog for music education. Writing with similarly-minded colleagues, MusicEdForAll features Neal Raskin and Andrew Beard. The three share more than just their background from Concordia College; they each teach in the Midwest (North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota) and share about their experiences teaching middle school band, high school band, and high school choir. They believe strongly in a comprehensive music education for every student, promote the philosophies of Dr. Bob Duke and Dr. Scott Jones regarding habit formation and musical independence, and encourage the commissioning of new music. Beard and Leeman combined efforts in 2009 to found InsightfulMusic.com, a music publishing company that tied closely with their philosophies; promoting new music, giving higher royalties to composers, and providing site licenses and digital downloads for music educators.
