http://ujwala.wordpress.com/2008/05/17/im-in-a-book/a book that he was producing for SoFoBoMo and I readily agreed. It was especially exciting as the book was to be about six artists and their art. The photo below is one amongst many taken at a photo session. The book turned out to be fantastic. You can browse

An artist and his muse
http://ujwala.wordpress.com/2008/05/14/an-artist-and-his-mus...exhibitions to date. Pagla has been featuring in his work for many years now. With many artists you see a recurring subject, model or colour something they keep coming back to. Do you have one? The reference for both these pieces have been taken by Anil Advani for his SoFoBoMo project and used with permission. Below I’ve tried a close crop of the digital painting made of Pagla. I’m not sure if it is better or worse. Jamal 12″ X 18″

http://drawtheline.wordpress.com/2008/05/07/not-there-yet/photo shoot helped me start the first one and the second happened when I got stuck on the first. Both are at the “ugly” stage but I’m just happy to have started. The first is based on a photo reference taken at Jama Masjid 3 years ago. The second is

Anil’s Space on the web
http://aniladvani.wordpress.comwe had a lot of laughs trying to set-up the lights and get him into position. He kept looking “skyward” and joked about how artists are supposed to have a vacant far-away look in their eyes for portraits. LOL! I gave up. But am posting one, on the SoFoBoMo Log page anyway. Shall try again, on Sunday next. The set-up portrait session for Zeba went pretty much the same way. She was very conscious of the camera and I could not distract her enough to make her relax. Juise tried, and had us in splits mostly. End of

Learning to fly
http://aniladvani.wordpress.com/2008/04/29/learning-to-fly/encouraging the chicks to come get their breakfast. First one then the second were brave enough to attempt the jump out of the nest and into the high branches. I’ve been watching out for the third, but there is no sign of it. Wonder what happened? Mother Bulbul gets very agitated as she spotted me on the balcony [even though I did my best to hide behind some shrubs] and was screeching and hopping around trying to get the

SoFoBoMo day-4
http://aniladvani.wordpress.com/2008/04/24/sofobomo-day-4/SoFoBoMo Day-4: Juise’s workbench. We had a power outage [one of several that we have every day], and I had just stepped into his small “office” and setup 2 SB800s to take some photos of the workspace. It went completely dark in there when the power went out, I
