Speaking at a conference can be a hit-or-miss event. Next week I will take the stage at Web 2.0 Expo for a three-hour workshop on Web 2.0 Best Practices: expressive HTML, feed syndication, and widgets. Delivering technical content longer than The Godfather is an intimidating yet worthy challenge. …

Building Scalable Websites
http://thedigitalnews.tv/2008/05/10/building-scalable-websit...out of the box, except perhaps for sessions, but that’s easily solved by storing sessions in a db (which then has it’s own scaling approach) and not in the filesystem. Here’s a talk by Rasmus Lerdorf that explain scaling with PHP5. ( Here’s the mp3 audio recorded by Niall Kennedy). Blain Cook made this presentation: VIEW PRESENTATION http://www.slideshare.net/Blaine/scaling-twitter Scaling Flickr. Cal Henderson wrote the above book, and also has a good presentation:

A sizeable crowd of folks all fell back onto the grass each time the plane went by, including for a few passes, Tim O’Reilly himself (in light blue shirt on the flyby picture to the left.) After lunch I attended a session given by Niall Kennedy and Sam Ruby on Syndication Hacks.
