Sketches of Alaska

http://sketchesofalaska.blogspot.com I am an artist and writer, and my home is in Fairbanks, Alaska. As an artist I specialize in pen and ink drawings, mainly of old equipment, historic structures, and other culturally significant sites. My writing centers on essays and historical non-fiction. Besides art and writing, my passion is exploring the back-roads of Interior Alaska. For 25 years I have been tramping about Interior Alaska, documenting its mining camps, homesteads, cemeteries and other sites before time, vandals and development erase them from the landscape. Recently I have also been writing a column in the Fairbanks newspaper about historic sites around Interior Alaska. On the pages of my blog you will find images of my art, rambles about Alaska, musings on an artist's life in Fairbanks, and some of my columns. I hope you enjoy. |
