I started my Sunsikell blog in December of 2009. It's all about my experiments in making my own natural artists pigments, inks and paints, and then using them to create my artwork. I wildcraft earths, grow and harvest dye plants in my garden to make lake pigments, and collect and grind stones to create traditional paints. I make some historic synthetic colors as well. Also included in the blog is my philosophy of art materials, art history and art and illustration in general.
