Apple thinks corporate -- or rather, corporations think Apple [Cubicle Culture]
http://valleywag.com/386529/apple-thinks-corporate-++-or-rather-corporations-think-appleOut of 250 surveyed companies, 87 percent report owning Apple computers. That's up from 48 percent In 2006. Amazon.com lawyers file suit against New York state [Politics]
http://valleywag.com/386479/amazoncom-lawyers-file-suit-against-new-york-stateNew York state legislators passed a law that will require Amazon.com to collect sales tax on items New Yorkers purchase on the site. Amazon lawyers call the idea "unconstitutional" and have filed a lawsuit in New York's Supreme Court. Doba Brings Guy Kawasaki to Salt Lake
http://voxpopdesign.com/wordpress/?p=89database program. He also started the company Fog City Software. And most recently he launched the rumor reporting website Truemors. That event is November 1st from 3-5pm at the Health Science Center, Salt Lake Community College, Jordan Campus. While Truemors has been something of a black eye for Guy the cost of admission ($10) and Guys otherwise impressive legacy should make this a good event. Hope to see you there!

Guy Treks
http://www.joereger.com:80/entry-logid1-eventid5990-Guy-Trek.... Nice photos. We met Guy in Silicon Valley at his hockey rink to talk dNeero. He said it was retarded. I disagreed. We argued for an hour and then flew home. My response, a year later: Truemors, who's retarded now? Lol... just kidding Guy. But you did spend $12k to do something stupid... I spent a heck of a lot less than that. At this point dNeero is certainly a much bigger flop than Truemors. But then again, we didn't have

Guy Kawasaki, Truemors and for Everything Else, There’s Mastercard
http://bub.blicio.us/?p=197Well, at least he has 12,000 new points to spend on his Mastercard. Other voices on the subject: Matthew Ingram - “What he should really be saying is `How I Wasted $12,107 On a Site That Serves No Purpose.’” Wired Mediabistro Tom Abate Valleywag - “We are supposed to take from “the numbers” that Guy was just trying to learn some lessons about Web 2.0 startups, but Truemors does not reveal new lessons, it shows Guy needing to rationalize bad PR, something he hasn

2 Guys and a Gal from the Community
http://mariosundar.wordpress.com/2007/06/05/2-guys-and-a-gal...(Automatic Dirt Digger) and Digg (User generated dirt digger). Unfortunately, Truemors has been buried under an avalanche of bad reviews, with the two most recent ones drawing particular attention: 1. Tim Faulkner – We are supposed to take from “the numbers” that Guy was just trying to learn some lessons about Web 2.0 startups, but Truemors does not reveal new lessons, it shows Guy needing to rationalize bad PR.

Kawasaki: How I wasted $12,107 on Truemors
http://www.mathewingram.com/work/2007/06/04/kawasaki-how-i-w...Digg-style rumour site Truemors just stuck in my craw for a whole bunch of reasons. It’s not just the sort of self-satisfied tone of the whole post, as though Guy had somehow invented the wheel, or cured cancer (Valleywag has a great deconstruction of the post). And it’s not just the rampant over-use of Web jargon like “Long Tail” and “Social Media.” Those are bad enough, mind you. But what really bugs me is that I’m not sure Guy has created anything at all

Guy Kawasaki and Truemors
http://blog.mastermaq.ca/archive/2007/06/04/7222.aspxentrepreneurs will have a similar experience. I sure haven't! I'd love to have over 260,000 page views at Podcast Spot in a single day. Anyway, I'll stop now. If you'd like to read an interesting counterpoint to Guy's post, check out Valleywag. (This is a total aside, but I think my friend Alex looks a lot like Guy. He's an evangelist too!)
