Penny Alexander worked as a secondary teacher in South London for seven years, building a successful Film and Media Studies department and teaching Drama. It was rewarding, but all consuming, and after waiting a very respectable 29 years, pregnancy became her exit strategy from the education system. During her time as a stay at home mum, Penny gained a five year old girl, a three year old boy, an MA in Media, a Diploma in Creative Writing, an award winning parenting blog Alexander Residence, 1000s of new online friends, a pile of short stories, the better part of a children’s book and two halves of a novel. One day she will stick them together. Since she won the short story competition at Macclesfield library aged 7, she has always wanted to be a writer. Nowadays Penny is a freelance writer, blogger and vlogger.
