The Cynical Times

The Cynical Times is an online news community for middle-class Americans. We’re nonprofit, nonpartisan and nondenominational. Our mission is to educate middle-class Americans by providing them with a transparent news source, which neither engages in misinformation nor in sins of omission, to enable them to better advance their own interests as educated voters and consumers. Our target readership has an annual household income between $30,000 and $140,000. Our editorial position champions the greater good of middle-class Americans and places their collective long-term interests ahead of partisan politics, for-profit companies and industries, organized religion, and all other income groups. Our staff is comprised of middle-class Americans, who are mid-career veterans in their professional fields. We exist to fulfill the old-school journalism mission of challenging authority and to identify and report painful truths, rather than mislead readers with convenient fictions that make them feel good abo
