“Echo Sierra” stands for the abbreviation “ES”, which refers to “End State“. The End State is a political and military concept used to describe the expected situation (either Political, Legal, Social, Humanitarian, Economic…) on a theatre at the end of an operation. Fond of conflict issues, I would like to share my views and thoughts on current events or debates that are related to security. Even if referring to a final stage of an operation, the End State is designed during planning and serves as a bearing point during operations. It can also be redefined during the operation. Thus, behind this term is a constant reflexion about a conflict, its underlying causes, its stakeholders, its effects, the means used to solve it… This idea of brainstorming attached the End State shall be representative of the views expressed on this blog: from a news item I develop some thoughts on a particular topic related to International Security, while everyone is welcome to comment them.
