  1. MTV Remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show - ComingSoon.net

    http://www.eriegaynews.com/mahlerblog/2008/07/mtv_remaking_th.php

Um, no. Just a bad idea from the get go. Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult classic, and should NOT be messed with. I can probably sing most of the score and many of the lines (plus some of the audience participation stuff) from memory. I am NOT shivering with antici-(SAY IT!)-pation. …

We did quite well indeed last night with folding the newsletter. There was a total of 10 of us, including 3 first timers. I walked out of the Zone and saw a somewhat familiar face. From 1984 to 1987, I lived in Dinor with a woman with 2 children. This was part of my unlamented attempt to be straight. …

    http://www.eriegaynews.com/mahlerblog/2008/07/estelle_getty_1.php

Bummer! Estelle Getty was wonderfully funny and a terrific human being, according to all accounts. She played Harvey Fierstein's mom in the original stage production of Torch Song Trilogy. meetings like this will continue throughout the area, as a means to share ideas and enthusiasm for revitalizing the Erie-Buffalo-Pittsburgh-Butler-Youngstown-Cleveland Region. I was joined in representing the Erie area by fellow Erie bloggers  Michael Mahler  and Tom Duska. Expect a fight locally, as beer and wine trade associations have fought the transfers in other parts of the state. Last night was the first night of the Rust Belt Bloggers Summit held at Brewerie. Erie blogger Mike Mahler was at last nights event and blogged about it. Thank you to conference organizers for bringing the event to Erie. If you didn't pick up an iPhone 3G today at a local AT&T store, you're out of luck until next week. Stock in the Erie stores was exhausted quickly. If you really need one, try

I just received an e-mail from Michael Mahler with the sad news that one of Erie’s bloggers, Jack Tirak, passed away. Jack was the creator of Erie Media-Go-Round. I never met him, but enjoyed his blog. My deepest sympathies to all his friends and family.

Heard the story about someone getting Melissa drunk and trying to get get her to eat ham (a.k.a. “slip her some meat” as I so gracefully put it). Helped ron become a complete man (*ahem*). Made Kim’s mind spin w/ how fast Michael and I would talk (plus: mmmm cheesecake pops). Got handmade crocheted fingerless gloves from Brandy (will photo & share w/ long version entry). Met Emma & did much coveting. Returned with one tree
