It has become difficult to build computer chips the way we used to build them back in 1990s. Chips need to take software practices into account instead of blindly increasing clock frequency. In this era, we need strong symbioses between hardware designers and software programmers. This blog is dedicated to the design of future chips. It targets hardware designers and software programmers with the intent of bringing them together to discuss what the right future chips shall be. Most posts will cover hardware changes that impact software or vice-versa. We will cover the latest technology and research news in the field of computer architecture and circuit design, and also discuss software changes that may (or shall) impact future chip design.
