I started this blog in the middle of my HSC, when I found myself in a strange place. It was in a small way a tool for procrastination when I was surrounded by malevolent piles of essays and exams. But it also came from a real desire to discover whether I could actually use the internet to connect meaningfully with people and the world around me. To discover whether or not this omnipresent cyber-reality could circumvent the narcissism I had previously associated with social networking and the blogosphere. Because I think it could prove to be a really powerful tool. Lastly, after a year of apathy, keeping my ideas neatly packaged into high-school-essay-friendly formats, I grew tired of dwelling quietly in my little corner. I found myself bursting with things I was no longer content to suppress. This is, for me, an exercise in putting myself out there, something I haven’t historically been very good at. To take back and rediscover the power of words, and my own connections to them, to re-engage with the world
