His professional work has included the implementation of a refugee gang violence reduction program in Cairo, Egypt; field assessments of emergency shelter standards within refugee camps on the Kenya-Somalia border; and research on the capacity of communications technology as an economic development tool within Nairobi, Kenya. He is presently based in Washington DC and has ongoing projects in Burundi, Kenya, and Somalia. A Fulbright Scholar, Mitchell has degrees in Urban Planning, Architecture, Refugee Studies, and Design. |
