RIP Bear and PETA kills more animals last year...

    http://getstewed.blogspot.com/2008/05/rip-bear-and-peta-kill...

2007 kill numbers have arrived and as expected, they continue their murderous rampage. The report has a bit of a confusing layout, which PETA makes more so by including animals in the report that are temporarily in their care for spay/neuter, despite having been asked by the state

Finding all the cool pet blogs over at Alltop

    http://blog.embracepetinsurance.com/2008/05/finding-all-the....

I pulled together a list of candidates and winged them off to Guy who kindly humored me and put them all up - woohoo! So now you have it - the pet alltop category. Enjoy the list; there are some really good pet blogs in there. Many thanks to Gina, Yvonne, Theresa, and Patty for helping out. I think we put together a pretty good list to kick things off. What other pet blogs do you think should be added?

    Pet Food, Pork and Tampons

    http://smartdogs.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/pet-food-pork-and-...

Considering the case of the Australian pet food processor — do we need to investigate whether pet food is one source of this virulent disease (it has generally been considered an issue of dog-dog transmission)?  Our friends over at Pet Connection tell us that the FDA will hold a public meeting tomorrow (Tuesday May 13, 2008 ) in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to discuss pet food safety standards.  Given the problems we’ve seen over the last year with melamine-contaminated wheat gluten, salmonella

    Berkeley, CA Approaches "No Kill"

    http://btoellner.typepad.com/kcdogblog/2008/05/berkeley-ca-a...

What Berkeley has done is institute many of the programs that Nathan Winograd has been traveling the country talking about with the No Kill movement. It's these same prinicples that are echoed by the smart people over at the Pet Connection. It's a similar system to the one instituted in Calgary that has seen almost no dogs or cats euthanized for reasons other than due to extreme health or behavioral issues. It's a sytem that works.
