Ponko People

Hi, I'm Dawn, creator of Ponko People. I actually started this photo blog purely for fun. The term 'ponko' was something that was used quite a bit when I was growing up to describe a certain type of (usually eccentric) character or thing. I have no idea where it came from, but it's always stuck in my mind. I think at the heart of it is my desire to put a positive spin on situations that are often seen as unfortunate, and also to promote diversity in my own way. I'll sometimes see something and think: "that's so ponko!" I would like to think that it will make someone smile everyday. I write all the posts myself, and will sometimes ask my friend for a second opinion. I'm hoping that with time, more and more people will visit the site, but it's still early days.
