http://www.proxart.org Proxart is hell-bent on seeing art, culture and community develop in suburban life. We started in December of 2007 by putting on an open-mic and art show at It’s a Grind Coffee House in Santa Clarita, CA and have since been trying our best to promote the innovative art that lies dormant inside suburbia and bring a much-needed awareness of broader art and culture into suburban (and non-suburban) life. To do this, we focus on three things: 1) We post what inspires us, and interview artists on Proxart.org. 2) We put on events in local suburbs using local suburban artists and/or bringing in the best art from the city. 3) We produce Proxart Magazine as a quarterly publication that is available for free download from our site. |
