2012 Brand of the Year Watch List Released
The Brand of the Year Watch List for 2012 has just been released, according to a report. Did your favorite brands make it to this year's list?
"This year's race for Brand of the Year has been impacted by several factors, including the state of the economy, events like the Olympics, as well as just plain old clever marketing strategies that have boosted some brands significantly, particularly in the beverage, restaurant, technology, and general business sectors," said Peter Daboll, CEO of Ace Metrix.
According to the Ace Metrix report leading brands contenders this year:
In beverages, craft brewers such as Blue Moon and Samuel Adams have performed exceptionally well this year and are featured prominently in the Watch List.
In non-alcoholic brands, Ocean Spray, Tropicana, Gatorade and Coca-Cola made it to the Watch List contention this year.
In restaurants, food has been much more focused on casual dining than quick-service-restaurants on their list. Those in the Watch List includes Applebee's, LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, and Baskin Robbins.
In general business, those on their Watch List are brands like Procter and Gamble, General Electric, Coca-Cola, Visa, and AT&T.
In the technology industry, the highly competitive category are those that comprise of the mobile device, software and hardware, video games and televisions. Apple, Samsung, Google and PlayStation are top contenders in this category.
