Discussing marketing's future at FutureM
A quick glace of Technorati's Business and Advertising blog rankings will tell you that the Internet is not short of great sites that provide businesses and entrepreneurs great insights on how to market their products and services.
One of the truest forms of education, despite the rise in use of social media, are events. It's old school, but they are still an effective learning tool.
Recently, Technorati sat down with Debi Kleiman to talk about the Future...specifically, FutureM. Kleiman is the President of the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange and the Host of FutureM, the annual event experience about the future of marketing, happening October 16-18 in Boston.
What should attendees expect at this year's FutureM?
FutureM is about what’s next in marketing; the ideas that are transforming our industry are sparked and discussed there. It’s a place to connect, converse and create. This year we’ll have diverse group of speakers from major global brands, thought leaders from academia and science, and exciting tech startups representing voices from across the marketing spectrum. Our theme is about exploring the ways that digital technology and media are colliding with new industries and ideas to reshape the modern marketing landscape. We hope that attendees will take part in that conversation and come away with concrete, actionable ideas for their companies and clients that position them for big success in the face of a fast changing, competitive environment.
How has the conference changed over the years?
The conference has grown from a smaller, more regionally-focused event to a national gathering for marketing experts and visionaries. It’s a diverse group of functions and expertise because that’s what is really happening in Marketing today. This diversity is what’s driving some of the most interesting things that are changing our practice. The event has also expanded to attract people from a diverse group of industries, including healthcare, finance and technology. That’s because many innovations in marketing are coming from these and other places outside of the traditional marketing industry. FutureM explores these innovations alongside the big themes and issues essential to growth in the marketing industry in the years to come.Continued on the next page
