Social Media - 13 Sites I Use and Why - Page 5
The Marketing Spotlight
I didn't mention this one earlier because it isn't a mainstream social media site. It's my blog.
To make the best use possible of social media, your blog has to be the centre of your efforts. You connect other sites to it so everything you post gets broadcast as far and wide as possible.
For example, on Technorati I write posts about social media and how small business can use it. On The Marketing Spotlight, I post about information marketing and how small business can use it.
Then I join groups on Facebook and LinkedIn that are relevant to small business owners who want to use social media and information marketing. You can see how it all fits together.
From the two blogs - Technorati and The Marketing Spotlight - I pull content for my monthly ezine. These blogs are also supplying the content for a workshop series Tim Clay and I are developing under the Community Re-Investment Act for the banking industry.
These are all the sites I'm using and why.
You know I didn't start using all of them at the same time. Start with the Golden Trio, and move on from there to use other sites.
As we go along, I'll use examples from each of these sites (and others) to show you how to use social media. I'll also make a point of showing you how each of the sites I use fits into my social media marketing plan.
If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, I hope you'll take a second to type them in the comments section. Let's start a few conversations and make this a place where we're all helping each other. After all, there are way to many social media sites for me to know how to use all of them.
