Create Your Own Mobile Marketing App with Eyemag: BizCATS on BizTech
Smartphone applications are all the rage these days. Whether you have an iPhone, a BlackBerry, an Android, or any other phone, there are a wealth of new applications being added every day. Some are games, but many others are valuable business tools developed by companies as part of their overall marketing strategy.
For example, the Southwest Airlines iPhone App lets you make reservations and check in for flights right from your phone. Facebook and Twitter have apps as do The Weather Channel, Amazon, Direct TV, and thousands of others.
Could your business benefit from having an app for your customers or prospects? If you’ve thought about it then you probably know that developing an app requires strong tech skills or a lot of money to have someone do it for you. Probably not realistic for most small businesses… or so I thought!
A couple of days ago I discovered EyeMags, a do-it-yourself, free, online app builder that requires no technical skills. With Eyemags you can create a slick simple App in just a few minutes that can be a great marketing tool and that your customers can easily download to almost any phone.
Clearly there are some limits and you’re not going to create the next supergame with it. What you can do, however, is create a “magazine app” featuring (a) the content of your blog, or (b) photos, or (c) any RSS news feed. So your app might feature the latest product or sale updates from your company “blog”, or maybe news items from various sources that your customers would want to know about. How about some “how to” tips on your products or services?
The process is simple. Register for free, create your App (give it a name and a description), add the content by entering your blog name or feed info, then publish and let everyone know about it by email or in your next newsletter. You can even put a “Download our App” element on your website or blog.
It's simple, easy, fast, and free. It’s just a great way to get your company and messages into the leading edge of modern marketing.
