Microsoft Owns the WorldThe fact that Microsoft has over 10,000 patents isn’t going to stop them from charging $15 per non-Windows 7 (Android) phones Samsung sells. This move seems to indicate Microsoft’s forecast for their Windows 7 phone is not as promising as it once looked.

An unnamed communications industry source indicates Microsoft’s partnering with Samsung shows how much more profitable the Android platform is over Windows 7.

Microsoft has already established partnership agreements with HTC. These agreements and patent fees are not usually publicized but when Samsung the largest Android phone manufacturer is paying $15.00 per phone patent fees on sales they report at around 10 million Galaxy Series S in seven months, its news.

Patent fee agreements between large corporations ensure consumers will see more costs passed on to them. This revelation clarifies how a $400.00 phone purchased today can be bought six months later for $50.00.
