Monarchies, Fiefdoms & Corporate Culture...
First, Monarchy means singular rule. And that is exactly what a CEO is, a Monarch. So obviously, all businesses are pretty much various sized fiefdoms.
And this means the culture of the fiefdom is dependent upon the values system of the organization, and the wisdom of the leadership.
Now, the culture of these fiefdoms are all really cults. And here is the reason why corporate cultures are cults: it is because most people will do anything to belong; and will worship most anyone who controls their safety and security... if that's what it takes.
You see, value-masking behavior is required in the corporate world. And this is because the monarch/ceo of the fiefdom/culture holds all the power and can rule with reckless abandon.
Just this simple fact, causes tremendous pain and suffering in the world. However, while humans require singular leadership, the solution is in the attainment of virtuous autonomy.
So the solution to this core problem of narcissistic-egomaniacal-sociopathic-rule, must be to help co-create a society that embraces the paradoxically-dichotomous nature of the quest for joy, while embracing the diversely-interdependent spectrum of balance.
This means we must embrace the triadic nature of authenticity (for to be authentic, you must be transparent; and to be transparent, you must be vulnerable).
So let me simplify the problems:
• people are diverse; and interdependently connected
• people are resistant to change; but change is the only constant
• micro-cultures/micro-teams, actually run the company
• people value-mask to attain: safety, security, belonging and status.
And wise leadership recognizes these facts by leading and helping people to the truth and joy within themselves (self-actualize), while realizing peak experiences; and all by embracing a passionate purpose and mission that serves the greater good.
However, the monarch must remove himself from the equation or the monarch will undoubtedly and narcissistically, masturbate his ego, until he attains the oh-so-cherished 'God Complex'.
And for the monarch to remove himself from the equation, he must: cultivate, nurture, manipulate, and rule over his top 15 leaders; so as to help them: cultivate, nurture, manipulate, and rule over their top 15 leaders... while making sure that no tribe/team/micro-culture exceeds the size of 150 people.
And this requires a holistic care system that embraces the methods of the way to impartial nobility:
• compassionate-confrontation & honorable-authenticity.
• self-forgiveness & open-reconciliation
