Could Your Non-profit Organization Use A $10,000.00 a Month In-Kind Google Ads Grant?
Google Grants gives non-profit organizations advertising grants within the Google AdWords program.
With much of the online news focused on user preferences, in Google vs Facebook, and Google vs Skype headlines, you may have forgotten that Google is a large corporation. And like most large corporations, Google gives grants. Just as most corporate grant-givers tend to select a grant-giving niche, so has Google--though a rather broad one.
Google has chosen to give grants only to non-profit agencies that have a 501(c)(3) status and that provide community services to help the world in areas of science and technology, public health, the environment, youth advocacy, and the arts.
Google Grants is offering up to $10,000.00 in in-kind donations of free AdWord ads for organizations to promote their cause, including ads that call for donations, advertise membership drives, recruit volunteers and support, and even ads that drive traffic to non-profit ecommerce pages. Nonprofit agencies must have a website to receive a Google Grant, and their ads must link to a page on their agency website.
Google has already granted over 6,000 organizations free AdWords ad campaigns to help them promote their websites. While a grantee may get up to $10,000 dollars a month worth of advertising on Google.com, there are use restrictions, such as a cap on the bid amount for ad keywords. Also, Grantees' AdWord accounts only allow them to advertise on Google.com, not on the content or syndication network.
