SEO link building Every website starts with a particular goal in mind, or at least it should. Whether this goal is to create a simple online presence or to build a small online business, one of the most important aspects for it to succeed is to get found online. For this to happen, one of the things you should do is to create or establish a sound SEO campaign. SEO or search engine optimization, is the process of optimizing your websites online presence to obtain better rankings on search engines.

With that said, the goal of reaching the coveted first page of search engines is a task that although achievable, is what many internet marketers strive for. So what does it take to get first page rankings? Off-page search engine optimization (SEO), is one of them, and perhaps one of the most important factor to increasing your ranking results.

Essentially, off-page SEO is about link building (inbound links to your site), or getting quality and preferably authority websites to link back to you. The more inbound links you have, the more it is perceived that your site is important and relevant to a specific topic, thus the higher you’ll rank on search engines.

Link building, when done properly, is not as easy as it may seem. Getting or adding links to quality sites is basically out of your control, but, there are some things you can do to build your inbound links.

Here are some ways you can do:

1) First and foremost, you have o create high-quality, educational or entertaining content on your website. When your readers like your content, normally, they will naturally want to link to it. This is one of those type of links you are looking for.

2) Get social. In todays online confusion, it is easy to join a lot of networks and try to be active on all of them. That’s a mistake. Rather, focus on a few important social network, engage and interact with like minded people and build a strong following base. Share your articles to your community by posting links of your important posts or content, but don’t overdo it.

3) Write for high authority websites. This is a given, but did you know that there are so many advantages in being a regular contributor of “important” sites, such as Technorati? If you are reading this, then I think that I am making my point :). Go ahead and contribute for Technorati, the benefits are tremendous and mind you, you can even make money via AdSense. How cool is that?
