Chicago technology forecast reveals patches of electrifying at #techweekCHI

Midwest moving & shaking

The 2013 Chicago startup report, released by Built In Chicago, indicates the city’s digital ecosystem is exceeding growth expectations: over $1 billion was raised in 2013, a 169 percent increase over 2012.

In total, 78 Chicago tech companies each did their part and raised $1 million or more in capital in a region of the country not normally known for startup growth. And the world is taking notice as signified by the 70 VC firms outside of Chicago investing in local companies in 2013.
