The entertainment industry is known for having an intoxicating effect on those who dwell within it.

The notoriety can bring about a change in one’s moral or ethical beliefs, choice of religion and has even been known for draining entertainers of their humility.

Dorian Missick is a talented young character actor who has maintained that quality of earnestness and as a result has stood out amongst many of his peers. He has just been named on two IMDB lists – one lists him as one of 40 actors to watch out for and the other lists him as being one of 10 actors long overdue for a role as a leading man.

Dorian has starred alongside Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in Two Weeks Notice, Denzel Washington in The Manchurian Candidate, Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler in The Bounty Hunter and as Professor Jamal in the critically acclaimed independent film Mooz-lum opposite Nia Long, Danny Glover and Evan Ross.

The talented actor also shined in the films Lucky Number Slevin, Premium, and 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover. Dorian can soon be seen in the lead role in the upcoming independent film Big Words. The film chronicles a recently historical election day in Brooklyn.

On television, Dorian has made a splash with his recurring role on the hit TNT cop-drama Southland in which he plays Detective Ruben Robinson alongside notable actress Regina King. This fall, he will be joining the cast of the SyFy’s Haven.

He is a true renaissance man in every sense – having appeared alongside some of today’s best screen actors; it only stands as a testimonial to his own skill and versatility that he brings to every part big or small.

Beyond the sum of his talents and his impressive body of work – is a really cool man who hasn’t lost his grace and has maintained his earnestness. There’s something about earnestness that can make an actor’s performance and desire to achieve much more real – and down to earth.

The man behind the versatile actor is one who enjoys giving back to his community through the mentoring of children, loves being a DJ, has just gotten married earlier this year and is a devout Christian.

At the end of the day, it’s very easy to see that Dorian is a real person.

Late one evening, we had a really cool conversation. Upon answering his call, I noticed right away the New Jersey in his speech. In his voice, he was heard as both commanding and polite at the same time; it was very evident that he had been blessed with the gift of gab – Dorian is very charismatic.
