daniel radcliffeIn a brand new interview with GQ magazine, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe admitted that he became "so reliant" on alcohol as a means of getting himself through the long days while filming the mega-successful film series throughout his teenage years.

He revealed to the magazine, "I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me."

Radcliffe landed the role of a lifetime as the lead character of the Harry Potter franchise at the ripe age of 11. Because so much was riding on his shoulders, he considers himself rather fortunate that the paparazzi never caught him in an embarrassing drunken moment. He stated, "I really got away with that because there were many instances when a paparazzi shot like that could have been taken."

Radcliffe also revealed that thankfully, he got his act together and became fully clean and sober back in August 2010. Ever since then, his life has been functioning at a much slower pace.

"As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn't work for me," he told the magazine. "I'm actually enjoying the fact I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I'm really pleasant and I'm not f--king up totally all the time. There's no shame in enjoying the quiet life. And that's been the realization of the past few years for me."

When the subject of money came up in the conversation, Radcliffe surprisingly stated that he intends on stowing away the vast fortune he's amassed. This isn't just because he's become more prudent, he simply doesn't know what to do with it all!

He said, "I'm very fortunate to have it, and it gives you room to maneuver. But the main thing about having money is it means you don't have to worry about it. And that for me is a lovely thing. It's not for fast cars and hookers."
