Conan The Barbarian - Issue 6
Everything you need to know about this comic book can be found on the cover. The sumptuous, crazy-hot sexy cover with the look between Conan and Bêlit. The passion melts the page, burning with a intensity that scorches your heart.
Yes, this is fantasy adventure and it's exciting. But what this really is, is a romance. A great, sweeping, complicated romance that is as pure as the sun. Writer Brian Wood isn't content to just make it a typical love-story as Conan has moments of doubt and self-conflict. He ignores his instincts and it is sure to create major problems down the road.
Score: 10 out of 10
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 9 - Issue 11
So much for Buffy's "slaycation" as she gets a job as a supernatural bodyguard. It's an interesting direction to take the series, even though it feels like a re-hash of season 6 and dealing with the mundane.
Where it deviates is that the rest of world, aware of vampires and slayers, is starting to move on with out her giving her a lack of purpose. The artwork is fine and characterization continues to be pitch perfect. Plus, an old enemy returns.
Score: 7.5 out of 10
Eerie - Issue 1
This a collection of short stories dealing with the weird and disturbing. Most end badly but a few are funny. The art is generally fine and it is fun. It's not clear if this is a monthly or quarterly series.
