Dark Horse Comics: New Release Reviews for November 9, 2011
It's a fairly sizable week from Dark Horse comic. Cat Power! rules the land with Buffy and Buffy-like comics as well as a new Hellboy OGN Titles are scored on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the very best possible. We take the time to read these books so your time isn't wasted.

Baltimore - The Curse of Bells - Issue #4 (of 5)
Eeep. That's an awkward test of purity. And painful. Tales of faith are a common theme that run parallel to tales of revenge. Both are dishes served cold in this story. The bells toll for our heroes. Fear the bells.
Score: 7.5 out of 10
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 - Issue #3
We finally meet Severin which is a name that is either ironic or pedestrian? I vote pedestrian. Zompires. Truly this word made the issue to 9 out of 10. Zompires. Zompires. I just like writing it.
Score: 9 out of 10
Dollhouse Epitaphs - Issue #5
They reached an ending that was open yet satisfying. Still almost impossible for people who didn't watch the show to follow what was occurring.
Score: 7 out of 10
House of Night - Issue #1
Based on a series of novels about girl vampires at girl vampire school. Colorful, playful artwork captures the mood of the story. Emotional, if over-optimistic in theme all the while dealing with peer pressure and religious intolerance. Cat power! A solid story that should resonate with female readers who are a bit too young for Buffy.
Score: 8.5 out of 10
Kull: The Cat And The Skull - Issue #2
I love the art, except for the exploding faces. The story is dominated by a smart, fat cat. Cat power! A lot of destiny talk in a fine offering from the sword and sorcery genre.
