Over the last few weeks, Disney’s California Adventure Blog has been providing ongoing hints that Cars Land, Disney’s hotly anticipated new theme land, is coming closer to completion (and opening!)

Twelve acres of excitement located in the heart of the California-themed park, Cars Land is slated for opening this coming Summer, and promises to provide a host of new rides, as well as the rebirth of favorites long gone. Here are some videos that ought to bring a smile to any child (or adult) who has been looking forward to seeing the 2006 animated film come to life...

Luigi’s Flying Cars, a bumper cars like hovercraft ride, is essentially the recreation of the once-lost 1960’s TomorrowLand’s Flying Saucer ride. You sit on one of Luigi’s Fettucini brand tires and float on air, as you lean to steer and even literally take the vehicle for a spin.

How could you build a recreation of Radiator Springs without Luigi’s Casa della Tires’ Leaning Tower of Tires? Here’s a short video provided by the team of Disney’s Imagineers, showing the construction of the iconic landmark.

Of course, you’ll be able to spend some time with friends of Mater (“Just like Tomater, wiffoutta ta”) on his Junkyard Jamboree, as you and your family are pulled on an old-time trailer by old, rusty tractors, as they dance to and fro to music from the movie.

Another ride slated for construction (and perhaps video release soon) is Radiator Springs Racers, a faster, larger and much more updated version of Disneyland’s car racing ride Autopia, recreating the glitzy rally to win the coveted Piston Cup. This ride takes up half of the park and uses cutting edge visual technologies, so expect to have quite a lasting white knuckler.

Cars-themed dining options include Flo’s V8 Cafe, Filmore's Taste-In and the Cozy Cone Motel. Ramone’s Paint Shop will sell mementos, so have a few extra bucks at the ready when you visit.

Lastly, here's Disney's official public revelation of Cars Land. Definitely worth a glance, as it has a preview of what's to come with Radiator Springs Racers.
