Politics are in the air as the Republican Convention ended and the Democratic Convention just began. Image Comics founder Todd McFarlane's long running series Spawn is set to tackle the outcome of the election with two versions of one issue reflecting either winner.

Comics fans are the winners, this week, as Image released eleven new comics. Titles are scored on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the very best possible. We take the time to read these books so your time isn't wasted.

Spawn - Issue 223

The cover is excellent by Todd McFarlane as it pays homage to the reigning title released by Image Comics, The Walking Dead. The inside is a let-down. Score: 3 out of 10

Guarding The Globe Vol. 2 - Issue 1

This is a nice companion piece to the Invincible series as these characters sprang from there. The story is fun and light even if there isn't a lot of trust exhibited by the team members. It's a fractured story focusing more on the strife in their personal lives. The humor is a bit odd but it's solid.

Score: 8.5 out of 10

Some of it is by having the characters talk and fight at the same time but it kind of makes sense. The story is coherent and can be understood without reading prior issues. The art continues to be bombastic.
