Lady Gaga and Osbourne Women Face Off in No-Win Feud - Page 2
It wasn’t long before Kelly’s mother, the notoriously razor-tongued Sharon Osbourne, decided to weigh in on the situation with her own scathing open letter to Gaga on Facebook. “By your actions to Kelly right now, you have shown me that you are nothing more than a publicly seeking hypocrite and an attention seeker," wrote Sharon. She continued, "You know it would have been much more dignified of you to do this privately. I am calling you a bully because you have 32 million followers hanging on your every word and you are criticizing Kelly in your open letter. Are you so desperate that you needed to make this public?”
Gaga promptly responded to Sharon with her own Facebook post in which she replied, "My letter to Kelly Osbourne was open, because her statements on cyber-bulling were public & as a youth activist I'm compelled to be involved."
At the end of the day, this is a no-win situation for everyone involved. Kelly does not deserve to be bullied, but repeatingly calling out Gaga’s little monsters over the last several months has landed her in the hot seat due to her hypocritical behavior. Gaga cannot reasonably be expected to have total control over all of her fans and the actions of a few bad seeds should not be used to characterize an entire fan base, but her response to Kelly came across as more self-righteous and defensive than concerned. As for Sharon, she has done nothing but add fuel to the already-raging fire.
With all this mud-slinging, any message about bullying has been lost, obscured by senseless personal attacks which will likely lead to even more cyberbullying from the less stable members of each of these women's enraged fan bases.
All in all, this feud is completely counterproductive and it would be in the best interest of all parties to put an end to it now. All three women and their respective fan bases ought to take a time out and head to neutral corners.
