Miramax "eXperience" Joins the Movie Parade on Facebook

Miramax joins Warner, Paramount and Universal in the new cyber-movie parade to go social.
With sagging theater ticket sales and drops in film rentals, movies need to go somewhere, and that somewhere is Facebook.
Well, digital downloads from Netflix picked up where Blockbuster leaves off, but folks don't get to share stuff with their friends.
On Facebook, the "Miramax eXperience" gives film fans the opportunity to share the Like button of their favorite movies, play games, and all that other stuff marketing people think we all do on Facebook.
Miramax's Facebook app provides streaming video of a current roster of 20 titles including Clerks, Chicago, Good Will Hunting, and Tarantino favs like From Dusk 'till Dawn.
I'm sure die-hard Christian parents love the idea that their kids can watch Salma Hayek do the snake dance in From dusk 'till Dawn.
The Miramax/Facebook app works on multiple platforms, including PC, iPad, and streaming channels like Google TV.
The game, by the way, lets users match their friends to the roles they see in any given flick. Actually, that sounds like fun.
Ooyala and AllDigital are the developers working in tandem to further develop the app, with Miramax putting out the disclaimer, "In beta."
Like most new online toys, each new version promises better functionality and usability. The growth of Facebook, Wordpress and Google are 3 giants that testify to the iteration strategy.
